Oh, HI... I'm Josephine !
I am the baker, photographer, and writer behind The Jo Baker blog. It’s pretty obvious that I love cookies, cakes, and sweets (hashtag chocolate) so much…. but I also have a thing with pizza, steak, and dumplings!
So… Yes, I cook too but I bake more.
♥ My Idea for This Blog ?
It came from my days thinking about a lot of foods (mostly sweets) and the desire to create them with my own two hands. Not only creating them, I also love trying new things and developing new recipes so much. I often share my baked goods with my family and friends, then some of them ended up asking me how to make this and that. It leads me to have this idea about creating a blog.
♥ How did I start baking ?
I started baking and cooking from a very young age. I learned how to bake mostly from my late father. When I was little, about 7 years old, he used to let me mix his cake batter, also showed me how to make bread and cookies. He used to love trying new things and developing new recipes so much too. Yeah, I think I resembles him very much. My dad taught me how to bake, but my mom was the cook in the family. I learned by observing my mom in the kitchen. I watched her a lot and started fixin small things and make simple meal for my siblings. Sweet sour chicken and vegetable fried rice, those 2 menus was my favorite :).
♥ About My Skills…
I don’t have any professional training. I’ve gain all my baking and cooking knowledge from years of trial and error. While my passion continued, this things has made me fall in love with food photography. I do find it super challenging but also rewarding. And I always get super excited to learn more by comparing my old photos to my new ones. Then about my writing, I just started it when I decided to create this blog. I’m not really sure is it good enough or not? But I’ll do my best to make this blog interesting and easy to understand.

The recipes you’ll find on this blog are the result of my cravings and experiments, and I really hope you’ll find something (or lots of things) that make their way to your table.
